Hi-tech Magnetics specializes in printed circuit board artwork, PCB assembly and manufacture of transformers. The priority of owner Mrs. Uma Reddy was to provide for sufficient natural lighting for the workspaces, as her earlier premises had used too much electricity for lighting. She liked the idea of an ecological building since it reduced her maintenance cost, and the facility’s rainwater harvesting system provided her with adequate water to manage the building.
The building provided for administration areas, meeting space, raw material stores, a shop floor and transformer lamination facility. The shop floor spaces incorporate passive cooling features.
Structure:
- Walls – stabilized mud block on RCC-framed structure
- Roofing – plain RCC and arch panels. Vaulted ceiling for entry and staircase room
- Flooring – plain cement and clay tiles
