In the Holy city of Puttaparthi and its environs there are many elderly people who do not have a roof to sleep under. Helping Eagles, a charitable organisation from Germany, came forward to help the elderly homeless.
The facility has two large hexagonal dormitories for men and women with attached toilets separated by a common dining hall. Attached to the dining hall are the kitchen, utility and stores.
When works are to be executed outside of Bangalore and constructed by contractors and engineers who have not used such materials and methods before, we take a lot of help from our team of contractors and engineers in Bangalore. For this project, Sunil and Murali provided a lot of help to the implementing contractor in terms of deigning the roof and providing assistance in the making of blocks.
Structure:
- Walls – stabilized mud block
- Roofing – Mangalore tiles on steel structure and arch panels
- Flooring – clay tiles and Tandoor stone
